通訳するということ

「通訳」の訳語「interpretation」には「解釈」という意味も含まれています。
映画や小説も「解釈」によって、そこに隠された様々な物語やメッセージが見えてきます。
表面だけではなく、その奥にあるメッセージを読み取る力。これが通訳、翻訳においても重要な点だと思います。

Rainbow Project

紛争が続くアフガニスタンにはクレヨンが何かさえ知らない子供達が大勢います。
ノートやペンが足りず、青空の下で勉強する子供達。
そんな彼らに文房具やランドセルを送ろうと始まったレインボー・プロジェクト。
日本から送られたクレヨンや絵の具で子供達が書いた絵の展示が始まりました。
In Afghanistan, a country affected by continuing conflict, many children don’t even know what crayons are.
They study under the open, blue sky without sufficient notebooks or pens.
The Rainbow Project was started for these children, with a mission of bringing them school supplies and school bags.
And an exhibition of pictures drawn by the very same children who received these crayons and paints has just begun, here in Tokyo.

言葉だけではなく、音楽でも世界はつながる。そんな事を実感させてくれるプロジェクトがありました。
Here’s one project that makes you realize: the world is connected not only
by words, but also by music.

世界各国のストリートミュージシャン達が時空を越えてセッションするという素晴らしいアイディア。
上記「Stand by Me」以外の曲もプロジェクトのウェブサイトで鑑賞できます。
It’s based in the terrific idea of recording street musicians in one session
across space and time.
